  • Checkout is anytime before 10:00 a.m.

  • Please make sure dishes have been placed in dishwasher and dishwasher has been started, or that dishes are washed.

  • Trash/recycling should be placed in the bins by the parking lot. The black bin on the right with a clear plastic bag is the recycle (currently aluminum cans and plastics #1, 2, and 5, rinsed, are able to be recycled), the 2 grey bins with black bags are the trash.

  • Apartment should be left reasonably clean.

  • Towels should be left on the hooks, the hamper, or the floor, not on the bed. There is no need to strip the beds, we’ll take care of that.

  • A/C, lights, etc. should all be turned off.

We are on the VItran route, it passes by a few times a day, and is $1 per person per ride.  However, it can be a bit unreliable and does not currently operate on the weekends.  The phone number for more info is:  340-626-4010, reference the stop by Bellevue when asking for info. Exploring:

There is a lot to discover on this little island we call home.  A couple of our favorite beach/hike combos are Lindt Point/Honeymoon, and Ram Head/Salt Pond.  See: bogiesvilla.com/theoutdoors

Details

WIFI:  Bogies Villa, password:  eagleray

Television:  T/V is set up with Hulu and Netflix, just select your condo name as “Who’s watching?”.

A/C:  A/C should only be ran when room is occupied and bedroom windows and doors are closed.  Units are not meant to cool the living area, and if used in this capacity may fail.

Dishwasher:  The dishwasher has the option to run lower rack/upper rack/both.  If you have a small amount of dishes to do, please select a single rack option for water conservation.

Clothes Washer/Dryer:  Located on the pool deck level, it is directly under the trash bins near the parking lot.  There is a sign up sheet in the laundry room for usage. The washing machine is set up as load and go (no need to add detergent). There are detailed instructions on the washing machine and dryer.

Water:  Our water is collected from the roof and held in the cistern, while it is filtered, it is not U/V or Reverse Osmosis treated.  We highly suggest purchasing drinking water from town, either by refilling gallons at the Santos laundry or the machine by Kilroy’s, St. John Water and Ice (in the Lumberyard Parking) or purchasing from any grocery store.  We have left a reusable gallon in your refrigerator to get you started, please do not throw this out.  We also appreciate your help in conserving water while showering, etc. If you notice a toilet running or faucet leaking please let us know immediately!

Stove:  Both the oven and the range are gas.  When you light the burners you must push in, you will hear it clicking as it lights, once lit you can release and turn to the temperature you wish.  The bottom drawer of the oven is the broiler, NOT a warming drawer.  It works very quick, so when using please keep an eye on it!

Beach Gear: Chairs, towels, and a small cooler are for your use, please make sure they come back with you. Beach chairs are stored in the parking area. We do not provide snorkel gear or umbrellas but recommend Beach Bum and Low Key Watersports for rentals.

  • A few important numbers, just in case:

Police/emergency: 340-776-9110

Myrah Keating Smith Health Center:  340-693-8900

Concierge Doctor; Dr. Cynthia Good, MD: info@thedoctorshere.com

911: Should you need to call for an emergency it is important to know that the operators are in St. Thomas and you will need to give directions in addition to the “street address.”  Your location is 4A Glucksberg. The simplest directions are:  Gifft Hill, across the street from Bellevue, 2 yellow/gold houses with white roofs, sign says Bogie’s Villa, and share your unit name.

  • A quick reminder of house rules:

1.  We live on property with our 2 dogs, and there is 1 free range cat that claimed her space.

2.  Smoking.  You may smoke on your private decks or the parking lot.  No smoking on the pool deck or inside the apartments.

3.  Quiet hours.  We request no loud music or general loudness between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

4.  One parking space per unit.  Side note, it is easier to back into the drive than to back out.

5.  Please do not leave food out on counters, or dirty dishes in the sink.  Here in the Caribbean our bugs are smart and fast, even though we use pest control we appreciate the help :)

6.  When ready to remove trash it should be taken to the bin near the parking lot, and recyclables (only aluminum cans) should be rinsed and separated.  We have provided 2 trash cans in each kitchen to help with this. The 2 grey bins are for trash, the single black bin is for recycles.

7.  Water conservation.  We collect our rain water from the roofs and store in cisterns, please help us conserve in the way you shower, flush, and wash dishes.

8.  A/C.  We ask that you please only run the A/C when someone is in the room and the doors and windows are shut.  In the 1 and 2 bedroom condos the A/C will not cool the living area. If attempted to use this way the units may fail, and guest will be responsible for replacement.

9.  Power outages.  They happen.  We have added solar panels and 3 Tesla Powerwalls, however they are not enough to power everything overnight.  If we experience an extended outage we will text you and request your help in conserving the power, i.e. not running A/C, doing laundry, etc.

10.  Internet.  WiFi is provided throughout the buildings and the pool deck, we will not loose internet due to power outages with the Powerwalls.  However, we may lose service due to internet provider.  We will do everything we can to facilitate, but cannot be held responsible for internet outage due to provider.

11.  Phones:  We do not provide land lines, and highly recommend setting your phone up for WiFi calling before arrival.  It seems the only reliable and best service around island is AT&T.  We also highly recommend turning OFF your roaming as occasionally phones pick up the tower from the BVI’s.  Unless you have an international plan, you will be charged.

12.  There is a camera monitoring the driveway and common walkways.

13.  Pool rules:

  • No person under the age of 18 permitted on pool deck without parent/guardian.

  • Absolutely NO GLASS.

  • The pool grill is for everyone’s use, please clean after each use.

  • As it is a shared space, please be considerate with music, language, and behavior.

  • ABSOLUTELY NO DIVING!

  • No lifeguard on duty.

  • Walk, do not run.

  • Please make sure you use the trash bin, and kindly return items from your apartment back to your apartment, and vice versa.

14.  Kick back, relax, cool off in the pool, watch the sunset…….
